barley as a wedding cake. Moreover, be prepared to go through an odd
tradition, because the loaf will be thrown at you, the bride, as a
symbol of fertility.

century, couples preferred a satisfying pie over an icing-covered
cake. Inside this so-called “bride pie” is a glass ring that
works in a similar way to the bride’s bouquet wherein whoever finds

of your bridesmaids? In some parts of the U.S., it was tradition for
single women to pull out ribbons from the bottom layer of the wedding

placing a piece of wedding cake under their pillows so as to dream of
