tradition, because the loaf will be thrown at you, the bride, as a
symbol of fertility.

century, couples preferred a satisfying pie over an icing-covered
cake. Inside this so-called “bride pie” is a glass ring that

ready for wedding bells. Another tradition involved bridesmaids
placing a piece of wedding cake under their pillows so as to dream of
their future husband.
